The Game Awards 2019: Sekiro é melhor jogo do ano; confira todos vencedores

Sekiro, da From Software, venceu na categoria de "Jogo do Ano" do "The Game Awards 2019", realizado na noite de hoje no Microsoft Theater, em Los Angeles (EUA). O anúncio foi feito pelo ator americano Vin Diesel, astro de "Velozes e Furiosos". (Veja a lista de todos os ganhadores abaixo)

O jogo se passa no Japão feudal e o jogador controla um personagem chamado Lobo, um ninja cuja missão é servir a uma família feudal. O problema é que ele acaba sendo derrotado em uma luta e perde a "tutela" do jovem herdeiro da família que ele deveria proteger. Daí a sua missão no jogo: recuperar o garoto. Um pouco mais para frente no game ele ganha o "apelido" de Sekiro, que em japonês significa "Lobo de um braço só".

O TGA chega à sua quinta edição, em 2019, sendo considerado uma das principais premiações do setor. O evento mantém a responsabilidade de eleger os melhores games e eSports do ano segundo uma votação global formado por um júri especializado que inclui o START, plataforma de games do UOL.

A premiação contou com a apresentação do jornalista canadense Geoff Keighley, além da presença de personalidades como o ator Vin Diesel, o streamer Ninja, Regie Fils-Aimé, ex-presidente da Nintendo of America, e Stephen Curry, jogador do Golden State Warriors, que entregou o prêmio de Melhor eSport do ano a Bugha. E, para descontrair, show do grupo punk rock Green Day.

Durante a cerimônia, a Microsoft anunciou o console da próxima geração: o Xbox Series X terá design verticalizado e será lançado no fim de 2020. O console já havia sido anunciado pela companhia na E3 2019, em junho, mas com o nome de "Project Scarlett" e sem imagens oficiais do aparelho.

A Microsoft anunciou ainda o lançamento do jogo "Senua's Saga: Hellblade II", que será exclusivo do novo Xbox.
